Events

The aim of all of our workshops is to help (potential) EA group leaders develop their own views on what's important and how to communicate it.

To do that, Nest staff will give just a few traditional talks where we are as frank as we can be about what we believe to be the fundamentals: why community building matters; which EA ideas are foundational; how to make great conversations happen; and the practicalities of running a great group.

We don't think talks and theory get you that far though, so what we'll spend the most time on is one-on-one and small, deliberate group conversations with the best EA thinkers we can find. Here, you'll explore active controversies and thorny issues with people who've had to navigate them in high-stakes situations, and hopefully develop your own substantive and stylistic taste in the process.

You can click through each event to see who the (likely) contributors will be and which university EA group will be represented, as well as the bespoke discussion topics we'll cover.

All of our events will include ample downtime for rest, recreation, and reflection too.
